Let an Online Skype Therapist Help You Resolve difficult Emotions

Working with a therapist via Skype provides a very convenient option for many people these days. Most people who seek help do not suffer from a mental health problem, they are not ill, but simply looking for practical help for managing difficult emotions. Life is extremely challenging for all of us, and we get little education on how to manage stress, anxiety, depression or anger. It is perfectly sensible and reasonable to seek help from a professional - but you do not need to consider yourself "ill" to seek help. There are, of course levels of mental illness where you should seek medical treatment from a local doctor or professional, but for most of us, we simply want to learn better ways of working with unresolved painful emotions and patterns of emotional reactivity.

PLAYLIST: Skype Therapy with a Skype Therapist

Learn more about See a Skype Therapist.

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional registered psychotherapist from Boulder, Colorado. Besides seeing clients in person, I also offer online counseling therapy through Skype. Skype Therapy, as it's commonly called, is becoming increasingly popular. It's so convenient for people. It means that you're able to schedule your sessions during your work day without having to leave home or leave the office. It's very convenient. With Skype, you're able to see the person as well as talk to them. It's really no different than being in an office, or in person. It's the same quality of the one-on-one counseling that you could receive in an office, but with the added convenience, as I say.

Many people like this format because it is something that allows them to find the right kind of therapist to work with, someone that they feel comfortable with. That's extremely important. Good therapy depends on having the right kind of relationship with your therapist. It has to feel good for you as the client. Also, I find that Skype Therapy works extremely well with the form of therapy that I specialize in, which is called Mindfulness Therapy; which I talk about in my book, 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation'.

Mindfulness Therapy has grown tremendously in popularity in the last 5 to 10 years now. Our understanding of what mindfulness is and how to use it to effectively work with emotions like anxiety, panic attacks, depression, stress, has grown tremendously. It's really very, very well worth exploring in detail. What is mindfulness? Basically, it is a form of awareness that we can define as non-reactive awareness. That means that you're able to sit, literally sit with your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them, without becoming reactive. This is absolutely essential for healing to occur. The only way that your anxiety or panic attacks will eventually subside is if you can sit with those emotions without feeding them with your reactivity, particularly of course, reactive thinking, avoidance behaviors, or any other of these varieties of reactivity that tend to become habits. Mindfulness Therapy is an excellent choice for changing emotional habits. It teaches you how to let go of bad habits and create positive new habits.

Talk to a Therapist Over Skype

It is so easy to speak to a therapist over Skype and for most people this is a welcome alternative to conventional office-based in-person therapy sessions. The online therapy format is considerably more convenient and also less intimidating for you, and this can be a very i important factor if you are struggling with anxiety, depression or addiction. The online format offers you greater privacy and anonymity.

Talk to a therapist over Skype

Talk to a Therapist Online over Skype for anxiety or depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online mindfulness therapist. I specially in Mindfulness Therapy because I find that to be the most effective way of working with anxiety, depression, and also addictions.

If you would like to speak to a therapist online, please go to my website, the link is below, and email me and then I can answer your questions and explain to you in more detail how online therapy works.

All you need to talk to a therapist online is an internet connection, Skype, and PayPal to make your secure online payments after each session.

The first session is called a Trial Session, which means there is no upfront payment and in fact payment is made on your satisfaction, on your total satisfaction with the outcome of that session. So, this a way for you to get a sense of how online therapy works, how I work as an online therapist, and to see if this is the right approach for you and if you wish to continue online therapy with me. So, if you would like to talk to a therapist online, do please go to my website and email me.

So, what do we do during these online therapy sessions? Well, what I focus on is teaching you how to overcome those underlying patterns of reactive thinking and emotional reactivity that cause your anxiety or depression.

This really quite different than conventional talk therapy, which is more about having an avenue to release your emotional stress to someone who is sympathetic and willing to listen and encouraging you to express yourself. That is, of course, very important; and important part of good psychotherapy. But, in my experience, talk therapy is not enough. We have to look at changing that underlying process. We have to learn how to break free from the habitual patterns of negative reactive thinking.

And, this is where mindfulness is so effective, because it is a very powerful awareness skill that allows you to explore that underlying structure of your emotions. It allows you to see those patterns and it allows you to change those patterns.

More than this, Mindfulness Therapy also allows you to explore how emotional reactions work, themselves. Now, emotions are really quite different than thoughts, their primary language is not words but it is imagery. Imagery is the natural language of emotions. When we say, for example, "I feel overwhelmed,'" that give us a clue to the internal imagery of the emotion. We literally see the emotion above us, at a higher position, weighing down on us. We feel OVER-whelmed by the emotion. That is a part of the imagery that makes the emotion work.

So, when we explore this imagery with Mindfulness Therapy, we see all the details of how that emotional imagery works and we can change that emotional imagery through mindfulness. We can explore making all kinds of modifications in that internal imagery that allows the emotions to neutralize itself, to discharge itself, to change. We teach the emotion how to change itself, essentially.

Emotional imagery, just like reactive thinking is primarily habit, and habit thrives on not being seen. Mindfulness is all about exploring in great detail what is actually happening; it's about exploring that structure. It is about learning how to become a scientist, basically, exploring how things work in your mind.

So, this is one reason why Mindfulness Therapy is so powerful. Another reason why Mindfulness Therapy works is because it teaches you how to change your whole relationship to your thoughts and emotions. It teaches you how to observe your emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them, without becoming identified with them, without becoming reactive.

So, if you would like to speak to a therapist online, do please email me and I will explain this in more detail, and then we can schedule a trial session. So, I look forward to hearing from you and I look froward to working with you to overcome your anxiety, depression, addiction, or other emotional problems. Thank you.

Mindfulness Therapy Helps You Overcome Your Anxiety and Depression

The form of therapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is very effective for anxiety, panic attacks, depression and most common emotional problems. The focus of this approach is to help you identify and break free from patterns of habitual emotional reactivity using the powerful awareness tool of mindfulness.

This approach is quite different from the standard forms of "Talk Therapy" in that mindfulness allows you to see into the very processes that generate anxiety, depression, panic attacks or other emotional reactions. Talking about an emotion can be helpful, but change become much more effective when you actually stop talking about the emotion and look directly at the structure of the emotion itself. For, example if you look at an emotion like depression, you may notice that it has a physical location in your body (pit of stomach, etc) and it may have a specific color - black and orange are frequently associated with depression. The point is that the more you learn about the structure of your emotions the more you can change. Change this inner imagery and you can make an amazing change in the intensity of the emotion.

Skype therapists provide help for overcoming anxiety and depression

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online therapist. I offer therapy over Skype to help you manage anxiety, depression, or addictions, or any other emotional problem.

The Mindfulness Therapy techniques that I specialize in have proven to be extremely effective for changing that underlying habitual process that creates your emotional suffering.

Medications only treat the symptoms. Talk therapy also may provide temporary relief but it doesn't really change that underlying psychological process that creates the anxiety or depression. That's what we focus on during these online therapy sessions.

If you contact me I will explain to you in more detail how this works. But basically, one of the principle strategies that we use during our Mindfulness Therapy sessions is to learn how to break free from that reactive process by which we become overwhelmed by the emotions that get triggered in the mind.

This is the central problem, right there, because the moment we become identified with anxiety or depression, then we become a prisoner of the emotion, and it simply becomes reactive. It starts to proliferate reactive thinking, rumination, and further kinds of emotional reactivity as well as behavioral reactivity, that simply feed that underlying emotion.

So, during the training sessions that I offer online I will teach you how to break free from this habit of identification with your emotions. It's like learning to sit by a fire without becoming burnt by the fire. It's actually not the fire that burns, it's your relationship to the fire that's the problem. If you have a good relationship to a fire then you can actually enjoy the warmth of the fire without being burned by it.

This is the same principle that we employ when we work with our emotions. When you can learn to sit with your emotions without becoming identified with them then you will no longer become overwhelmed by them. When you establish this relationship as an OBSERVER, then in that act you also create FREEDOM from that emotion. When you have this relationship in which there is freedom with an emotion, then that allows the emotion to begin to transform and heal and to burn itself out, essentially, just as the fire will burn itself out if you don't feed it.

When we react with identification with our emotions we feed the emotion and this stops them burning themselves out, this stops them changing. But when you can sit with an emotion mindfully, with consciousness, being consciously present with that emotion, then the emotion will change and it begins to heal and resolve itself. And the result of this training is that you are essentially teaching the emotion to heal itself. You are creating a new pathway in the brain that leads to the resolution of that emotion, and this begins to gain dominance over those old habitual pathways that simply fed the emotional suffering and prevented it from healing.

So, Mindfulness Therapy is direct and very focused in this way of changing that underlying process.

If you would like to learn more, and you are interested in working with me as an online therapist, and you would like to learn more about the process of working with Skype therapists in general, do please email me (the link is below). Go to my website and read more of the articles and watch more of the videos on that website and then when you feel ready you can email me and then we can schedule a Skype therapy session.

Most people see very quick results with Mindfulness Therapy because it focuses on changing that underlying habitual process that creates anxiety or depression. You can expect to see significant improvements after usually 3-4 sessions. It changes, of course between different people depending on how easily you take to this Mindfulness Therapy process, but most people really enjoy it and find it quite easy.

So, that's what is possible. You can really see dramatic improvements through Mindfulness Therapy in a relatively short time. So, if you are interested, do please CONTACT ME NOW and let's schedule a trial Skype therapy session and we can explore this approach in more detail and you can see for yourself just how effective it can be. Thank you.

Speak to a Skype therapist online

Contact me if you would like to speak to a therapist online through Skype. The central focus of good psychotherapy id to teach you more effective ways of working with your mind - with your thoughts and emotion. This can be done very effectively online through Skype. Learning such skills does not require being in the same room as your teacher, in fact you may learn better through the online format because it makes you feel more in control and less dependent on the psychotherapist. This is exactly what we focus on during online therapy sessions - giving you the tools for better managing anxiety and depression or other forms of emotional suffering caused by habitual reactivity. Always remember, anxiety is a habit; depression is a habit and habits can be changed by developing greater conscious awareness of the detailed process in the mind that creates your suffering. Medications and endless talking about your emotions will never do this effectively.

Skype therapy - Online psychotherapy. See an online therapist via Skype for online counseling therapy

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong and I provide Skype Therapy. If you would like to speak with a therapist online then this is the right place for you. Skype therapy is particularly effective if you are interested in finding an alternative to medications and conventional talk therapy.

Skype Therapy - Speak to a therapist online

The whole focus of the Skype therapy service that I provide is to help you learn very specific ways of working with anxiety and depression, of learning how to overcome the patterns of habitual emotional reactivity that create these emotional states, and this is something you can learn online just as well as in the therapist's office, and in some ways it maybe even better online because it puts you more in control and makes you less dependent on the therapist. Good therapy is about learning how to work with your mind, it is not about forming a relationship with your therapist, it is not about spending hours and hours analyzing your family history, it is about how your mind works, how you create your anxiety or depression or other form of emotional suffering. This is what we specialize in during these online therapy sessions. We use the techniques of Mindfulness Therapy that I developed some years ago for this very purpose.

Mindfulness is simply a way of looking directly at your experience, at your mind, without judgement and without reactivity to see exactly how it works. When you start to investigate emotional suffering in this way, one of the things you will discover is that most emotional suffering is the product of becoming overly identified with the mind - with thoughts, with emotions, with habitual reactive content that gets triggered in the mind.

We have to become conscious of these patterns of habitual reactivity if we really want to change, and this is much more important than just talking about your emotions and it is certainly is much more effective than just trying to treat the symptoms with medications. Sometimes medications are called for, but for most people they simply prevent you from changing the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression by dulling the symptoms. You need to be able to change that process and for that you need to be fully conscious and aware and develop insight into the way that your mind works.

A general rule here in Mindfulness Therapy is that the more conscious you become of these patterns, the less power they will have over you. The more conscious you become of the habit that creates your anxiety or depression, the less anxious or depressed you will feel.

So, this is one part of Mindfulness Therapy. If you would like to speak to a therapist online, if you would like to work with me, then please go to my website and simply send me an email and we can schedule a Skype therapy session for you. Thank you.

Therapy through Skype - Skype therapy sessions for help with anxiety and depression

Skype Therapy - Speak with an online therapist

Please contact me via email if you would like to speak with an online therapist to get help with your anxiety or depression. Skype therapy is an excellent choice for most people and does not involve medications or years of talking to produce results. We focus on changing the underlying process that causes your emotional pain, and the results are very tangible. I really insist that clients make sure they see positive results after the first 2-4 sessions. Psychotherapy should not be a long drawn-out process; if it is then the approach is wrong.

Skype Therapy - Speak with an online therapist

Email me to learn about Online Psychotherapy over Skype for the treatment of chronic anxiety and excessive worrying and chronic depression, help for recovery from an addiction, OCD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Psychological Trauma and other common types of emotional suffering not requiring medical treatment.

Standard counseling can be helpful, but often it does not look at the underlying structure that creates your depression or anxiety.

This also applies to the use of medications - the antidepressant may reduce symptoms for a while, but medications can not heal the underlying psychological process that generates your anxiety or depression.

The kind of psychotherapy that I provide is called Mindfulness Therapy, which can be very effective for managing chronic anxiety and for treating chronic depression or other common psychological difficulties resulting from conditioned negative thinking. Most of my clients experience quite significant improvements after the first couple of sessions of Mindfulness Therapy.

So, you might like to consider speaking to an online therapist if you want to take charge of your recovery process, if you want to learn how to manage anxiety or depression or addictions or any other form of emotional suffering yourself. I offer Skype therapy because I find it works and my clients really prefer this approach to the more clinical or medical approach that is more commonly available.

The whole focus of Skype therapy is to teach you how to work effectively with anxiety or with depression or with any other difficult emotion using the techniques of mindfulness which I have developed over the years.

Probably the two most important things that you will learn during the Skype therapy sessions are, number 1, how to form a stable and non-reactive relationship with your emotions and also with your thoughts. This is critical because if you become lost in your emotions or your thoughts then you effectively inhibit the process of healing, of emotional transformation. You remain lost and that feeds the underlying habit that sustains the anxiety or depression. So, that's very important.

The second aspect of mindfulness therapy that most people find immensely valuable is to work on changing the imagery of the emotions. Emotions are caused by a particular form of imagery that become stuck and habitual in the mind. This emotional imagery is what actually assembles feeling energy together and forms the emotion, whether that is fear or depression or sadness or guilt. Whatever it might be there is always going to be some form of emotional imagery.

During mindfulness work we investigate, using mindfulness, to see exactly how your emotions work. We look primarily at building a relationship with your emotions and then investigating the emotional imagery. Once you see this emotional imagery then you can begin to change it, and as you change the emotional imagery you change the anxiety itself. So this is a very effective and direct way of taking charge of changing your emotional habits.

If you would like to learn more about the methods of Mindfulness Therapy that I offer over Skype then simply go to my website, read more on the website, and then contact me via email to schedule a Skype therapy session.

Almost all my clients see dramatic improvements once they start applying mindfulness to their anxiety or depression. So, I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!

Have you ever thought about talking to a therapist online? Online Therapy a very popular choice these days. Many people are choosing an online counseling service as an alternative to a meeting with a therapist in an office. One advantage is that it is considerably more convenient, of course, since you don't have to drive to the therapist's office. You don't have to waste all that time spent driving or waiting. You can call from home, or from your office, or wherever you are, even from your hotel room if you're traveling abroad. It's a very convenient option.

With the advent of Skype it's now possible to talk to a psychotherapist online and see him or her at the same time. It's really just the same as if you were in the office together. I've been offering therapy online for many years now. As far as I'm concerned there is no real difference between online or in-person therapy, especially if you're teaching some form of cognitive therapy or mindfulness therapy, as I teach, where the emphasis is on teaching skills for working with difficult emotions. This can be transmitted online through Skype just as well as it can person-to-person in the office.

The whole point of this online counseling service is to help you better manage whatever emotional problems you may be experiencing using mindfulness-based methods and psychology, which in my opinion is vastly superior to traditional psychoanalysis or other analytic approaches. This approach is completely different to the usual style of talk therapy in that we really focus on transforming the core process that generates your anxiety or other emotional suffering. You may experience temporary relief through talk therapy, but unless you heal the underlying cause of your anxiety, depression or addiction you will be vulnerable to falling back into those old habits. During Mindfulness Therapy Skype sessions you will learn in great detail how to break free from those habitual patterns of emotional reactivity.

Skype Therapists can help you transform anxiety and depression

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online therapist, specializing in Mindfulness Therapy for the treatment of anxiety, also for the treatment of depression, and for addictions as well. So, if you're looking for an online therapist to help you with emotional problems that you maybe experiencing, do please visit my website and email me. I will be happy to talk to you more about the benefits of online therapy, about the process, and about how Mindfulness Therapy can help you overcome your emotional problems.

Basically, these sessions are usually about 60-90 minutes, longer than is typical for a psychotherapy session, and in these sessions we focus on looking at the process itself that creates your anxiety, depression or compulsion. We look at the internal thinking, the automatic patterns of reactive thinking that generates your emotions, and this is really very essential for changing any kind of emotional pattern. Most of it is created through automatic thinking, so a big part of Mindfulness Therapy is getting to see this automatic thinking and then beginning to change it through the process of awareness itself.

You don't argue with the automatic thinking, you don't try to get rid of it, you simply become aware of it. The more aware of it you become, the freer you become. In the same way that putting a car into neutral effectively stops that car from moving. It's the same with reactive thoughts - when you become aware of them, then you put them in neutral and they are not able to create an emotional reaction or create suffering.

Then it becomes possible to learn new patterns of thinking that are more positive and that help create more helpful emotional responses in the situation.

So, Mindfulness Therapy is very focused on changing these patterns of reactive thinking, and it works extremely well. So, if you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy for working with emotional problems, do please contact me through my website. Thank you!

Changing the Structure of Anxiety or Depression

Whatever the style of psychotherapy that you prefer, you need to change the underlying structure of the anxiety itself. Traditional Talk Therapy can be beneficial, but often it does not transform the underlying structure, the underlying process that creates your anxiety. The same can be said for medications as well - it may relieve symptoms for awhile, but medications  will not change the underlying psychological process that causes the anxiety or depression. So, it's very important to seek what we can call a process-centered therapy that focuses on changing the underlying process that creates the anxiety or depression. CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is an example of a process-oriented therapy. Mindfulness Therapy, which is a form of psychotherapy that I developed in the 1980's incorporates CBT and cognitive therapy with the addition of mindfulness, and this is another very popular process-oriented therapy.

Use Mindfulness to Counteract Reactive Thinking

So, what is the underlying structure of your anxiety? What keeps that anxiety alive? Well, there are two levels that we must address. The first is to do with what is called Automatic Reactive Thinking: the racing mind, intrusive thoughts, thoughts that occur over and over again, thoughts that catastrophize, the 'what if?' thoughts, that tend to feed the anxiety. So, that's one extremely important level of anxiety treatment that we look at during the online sessions of Mindfulness Therapy. We learn how to change our relationship to these intrusive thoughts. It's not the thoughts themselves that causes the problem, it's our relationship to those compulsive thoughts. The way that we tend to identify with those thoughts and simply become lost in those thoughts - we actually lose conscious awareness, in effect, and become prisoners of these recurring intrusive thoughts. Mindfulness Therapy is one of the best methods available for learning how to change this habit, how to break free from that prison of reactive thinking that causes anxiety. That's one level of Mindfulness Therapy - working with negative thinking.

Use Mindfulness to Change Your Relationship to Your Emotions

The second level of Online Mindfulness Therapy is changing the core emotions underneath that fuel that habitual thinking. So, you can think of anxiety as having a core, rather like a volcano has a magma chamber, and that magma is always looking for an outlet to the surface, and so it is with core emotions - they are always seeking an outlet, seeking to take on form, in the form of thoughts.

During Skype therapy sessions we work hard on developing a very positive and accepting relationship with these core emotions themselves. We create the ideal internal conditions that allow that core reservoir of anxiety energy to change, to transform, to heal and to eventually resolve. So, this is a very important part of Mindfulness Therapy - learning how to make friends with your emotions. Our habit, of course, is the opposite: it is to run away from our emotions, it is to avoid them, it is to resist them, it is to create aversion toward our emotions, but this only makes them worse! Avoidance and aversion simply reinforces the core emotion and prevents it from healing. So, during Mindfulness Therapy we learn to form a very friendly, compassionate relationship with the core emotions because this is what will allow them to resolve.

Transform the Image Structure of Emotions

The other part of the healing process for our core emotions is to look into its structure. What is the structure of an emotion? This is interesting because the structure of emotion is not thought, it is imagery. Imagery is the natural language of our emotions. This is why we might say, "I am feeling overwhelmed" or "I am in a very dark place right now" or "I am feeling trapped." These are all visual terms. It's actually how we see the emotion internally in the mind, and it is this emotional imagery that creates that emotion and keeps it in place. So, behind every emotion there is imagery - how we see the emotion inside. During Mindfulness Therapy we investigate this imagery, we look at it in great detail and we look to see the primary characteristics of that imagery that keeps the emotion alive.

For example, if the imagery is too close and too big, that is a primary component that creates the anxiety, or the panic. So, a simple step that you can try by yourself is to simply take the emotion and to move it further away. Often, a simple method like that can produce immense changes in the intensity of the emotion that you experience, simply learning to move it further away.

Other things to investigate are the color of the emotion that you see internally. Often, intense emotions have intense colors. So, when we change the color to black and white or to a muted color, that can directly affect the intensity of the emotion.

So, it's by looking closely at the structure of an emotion that you can find out how it works and with this information you can make profound changes imagery of the emotion. When you change the imagery you change the emotion. The more you change the imagery, the more the emotion changes. We use mindfulness to investigate what changes bring about the resolution of the emotion. We practice, refine and reinforce these changes until they become completely natural. When we have done this thoroughly, we will notice a major shift internally, a felt-shift occurs as the emotion, the anxiety, resolves itself. Eventually the anxiety no longer arises.

Online Help for Anxiety and Depression via Skype

Welcome to my site, CounselingTherapyOnline.com. I am a professional psychotherapist, originally from the UK, now living in Boulder, Colorado, and I provide an online counseling service for people throughout America and abroad as well, where I offer mindfulness therapy. This is a particularly exciting form of modern cognitive therapy which is very suitable for treating anxiety, depression, and for help with stress management.

Now the online option, this is quite new, but now, with Skype we can have face-to-face sessions wherever you live, and it's just as effective as seeing the therapist in person. In fact, there may be some indications that it's even more effective than traditional talking therapies, mostly because you feel more comfortable, more at ease in your home or office or familiar place than you would in a therapist's office. So that's one advantage, but the other advantage is that often there are just not enough local therapists in your area who provide the kind of counseling that you are looking for. So the Internet gives us an opportunity to search outside of our local area to find, not only the right kind of therapy that we're interested in, but also to find the right kind of therapist that we feel comfortable with, and who we'd like to work with.

The style of therapy that I teach is called mindfulness therapy. It's based on some of the ancient teachings of the Buddha on mindfulness, but brought into a modern context. Basically, it's a process of learning to work with your emotions directly and change the underlying process that keeps the anxiety or depression or stress repeating itself over and over again. The sessions are very friendly, informal. They're a combination of teaching and lots and lots of practical work designed to give you the tools that you need to manage your emotions more effectively.

So, if this is of interest to you, please fill out the contact form or send me an email, and let's start talking about online therapy for you. Thank you.

Mindfulness Psychotherapy for Overcoming Anxiety and Fear

Anxiety, fear and depression describe the condition in which emotional energy has become frozen in the mind. Mindfulness therapy provides an effective tool for releasing this trapped energy and restoring balance.

Anxiety and depression affect most of us at some time in our lives. For many, and estimates vary from 10-50%, these powerful emotions can take hold and reduce our happiness and vitality, leaving us feeling fatigued and fearful. We become the victims of these emotions.

All emotions are created around a complex network of negative beliefs and negative patterns of thinking that we acquire over the years that become the prison bars that keep us penned up and suffering. The first part of making a change for the better is learning to recognize these negative patterns of habitual reactivity. Most of the time we aren’t aware of these reactions when they arise - we just react out of habit. We tend to blindly accept the reactions as inevitable, the way things are. This provides our first challenge, right here. We have to break out of this delusion and understand that we are not the thoughts and emotions that arise in the mind; they are simply mind objects that arise due to conditions. Therefore, the first step in developing the art of recognizing our reactivity is to look at the reactions, emotions, worries and other negative thoughts as objects. We need to learn to look at these internal mental objects the same way that we might look at a table, a chair, a picture, or any other external object around us.

In fact, this is the first step in cultivating mindfulness meditation that we can practice right now. Settle into your chair, take a moment to relax your body and mind and start observing the objects around you. Pick an object and examine its details. Note how you can observe the object as it is: it exists in its space, and you exist as the observer, observing that object. You don’t have to react to the object, and the object has no power over you. In other words you have a very spacious and open relationship with the object, without any overlay of reactivity. This is the nature of mindfulness and with careful practice you can develop this same kind of mindful relationship with your thoughts and emotions.

This is where mindfulness becomes an invaluable tool for both the client and the therapist. Mindfulness is defined as the non-reactive present-centered awareness of an experience. It is the art of sensitive listening, being fully present and receptive to whatever is being experienced. In Mindfulness Meditation Therapy, mindfulness is applied directly to the felt-sense of the emotion to cultivate this quality of presence. We choose to make the emotion the primary object of our meditation and our task is to develop a relationship with the emotion, with the anger or fear in which we can observe the emotion and allow the emotion to unfold. The purpose of cultivating the mindfulness-based relationship is so that we can move from the superficial surface structure of the emotion to the deep internal structure and reveal the subtle internal structure.

As we all know, it is what we don’t see that has the greatest power over us, and this is exactly what happens with anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress. Through the mindfulness-based relationship that we cultivate with our inner emotional pain, we effectively allow it to change and witnessing this change is the essential part of the transformation process.

Online Psychotherapy - TALK TO A THERAPIST ONLINE VIA SKYPE

Skype Therapists for help with anxiety or depression

Welcome! My name is Peter Strong, and I am a professional online psychotherapist living in Boulder, Colorado. Besides meeting with clients in-person, I also provide online psychotherapy over Skype. Skype Therapy, as it's commonly called, is becoming increasingly popular. It's so much more convenient for people. It means that you are able to schedule your therapy sessions during your work day without having to leave home or leave your office. Skype Therapy is certainly very much more convenient. With Skype, you are able to see the other person as well as talk to them. It is really no different than being in the office with the therapist, or seeing the therapist in person. It's the same quality of the one-on-one psychotherapy that you would receive in-person, but with the added convenience, as I say.

GET HELP FOR ANXIETY FROM A SKYPE THERAPIST

Many people like this format because it allows you to find the best therapist to work with, someone that you feel comfortable with. This is extremely important. Good quality psychotherapy depends on having the right kind of relationship with your psychotherapist. It has to feel right for you as the client. Also, I find that the online format of Skype Therapy works extremely well with the form of therapy that I teach, which is called Mindfulness Therapy; and which I talk about in my book, 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation'.

Mindfulness-based Therapy has grown tremendously in popularity in the last 5 to 10 years now. Our understanding of what mindfulness is and how to use it to effectively work with emotional problems has grown tremendously.
It's really very, very well worth while exploring mindfulness in detail. What is mindfulness? Basically, mindfulness is a form of awareness that we can define as non-reactive awareness. That means that you're able to literally sit with your emotions. but without becoming overwhelmed by them, without becoming reactive. This is extremely important to facilitate transformation and healing. The only way that your anxiety or panic attacks or depression will eventually subside is if you can sit with those emotions without feeding them with your reactivity, particularly of course, reactive thinking, avoidance behaviors, or any of these other forms of reactivity that tend to become habits. Mindfulness Therapy is an excellent choice for doing just this.

Peter Strong, PhD is a scientist, author of 'The Path of Mindfulness Meditation', teacher of mindfulness meditation and Buddhist Psychotherapist, based in Boulder, Colorado, USA. He specializes in the study of mindfulness and its application in Mindfulness-based Therapy for healing the underlying causes of anxiety, depression and traumatic stress as well as for the effective treatment for addictions and OCD.
Besides face-to-face counseling sessions, Dr. Strong also offers Online Mindfulness Meditation Therapy through Skype for people who prefer the convenience of psychotherapy online.

Skype Therapist - A Better Option for You

Skype Therapist

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional Skype Therapist. I offer online therapy over Skype as an alternative way of helping you overcome anxiety, depression or addictions.

Online therapy for anxiety is particularly effective, especially using the Mindfulness Therapy methods that I teach online.

So, if you are interested in working with a Skype therapist do please contact me, read more of the articles and watch more of the videos about online mindfulness therapy and then contact me when you are ready and we can schedule a Skype therapy session. The first session is always a trial session, which means there is no payment due unless you are completely satisfied with the session and see the results that you are looking for.

Most of my clients do see incredible good results with Mindfulness Therapy and this is because Mindfulness Therapy works by helping you change the underlying process that causes your anxiety or depression. It basically helps you break free from those long-established emotional habits.

And that's what anxiety and depression is, primarily, emotional habits. These emotional habits get established quite early on in childhood and they tend to operate outside of our conscious awareness, so they gather momentum over the years and become more and more entrenched.

But, the important thing to understand with any kind of habits, including emotional habits is that they thrive on the absence of conscious awareness. The moment you bring conscious awareness to a habit then you take away the power of that habit and it will begin to change very quickly.

In Mindfulness Therapy we do just that, we focus a tremendous amount of conscious awareness directly on the emotional habits, and in this process you begin to reduce the intensity of the anxiety or depression and we begin to essentially break down its structure so that it ceases to have such power over you.

The power of mindful consciousness is quite remarkable and it's quite different than the usual level of awareness that we are familiar with. Mindfulness-consciousness is really a form of being present with your experience without any form of reactivity, without identifying with your emotions, without becoming lost in your thoughts, without becoming a slave to the contents of your mind.

Through mindful-consciousness we are able to regain control of our minds, in effect.

Most people see tremendous improvements after as few as 2-3 sessions of Mindfulness Therapy. Even after the first trial session you are likely to experience quite significant improvements.

So, if you are interested in talking with me further about this, do please go to my website and contact me directly via email and then we can schedule a trial Skype therapy session to help you. So, I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!

Welcome! Are you trying to find a Skype therapist to help you overcome anxiety or depression or to work with an addiction?

My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I offer Skype therapy for the treatment of anxiety and depression. I have been doing this for many years now and I really enjoy the Skype therapy interface. It's much more convenient, of course, for clients, but it is also very effective, because it means that you can receive quality psychotherapy form the comfort of your own home, without having to leave and go to a therapist's office where you may feel a little more uncomfortable or intimidated by the relationship of a therapist and you as a patient.

Skype therapy overcomes this kind of intimidation that is so characteristic of a traditional medical-based psychotherapy.

In my opinion, good psychotherapy is about teaching you more effective ways of managing emotional suffering, whether that is anxiety or depression or addiction or OCD or any other form of emotional suffering that is limiting your life.

From my point of view as a specialist in Mindfulness Therapy, I regard most psychological forms of emotional suffering as simply habits. These are emotional habits that we learn and that operate subconsciously.

These habits can be changed through the techniques of Mindfulness Therapy that I teach via Skype.

Let a Skype Therapist Help You

The convenience of seeing a Skype therapist is obvious, but that greater level of comfort can actually have a profoundly beneficial effect of the outcome of psychotherapy. This is one reason why there has been a growing number of studies into online psychotherapy.

Skype Therapist - Talk to a therapist via Skype

Welcome. If you are interested in working with a Skype therapist then you have come to the right site. I offer online therapy over Skype to help people work with anxiety, depression or addictions.

I find that Skype therapy is very, very effective indeed, especially for those conditions that I have just mentioned. Really, during Skype therapy sessions you will be learning techniques that will help you better manage your emotions and I will teach you how to break free from those emotional habits that create the anxiety or depression, or addiction.

The central process that we use for doing this is to develop what is called a mindfulness-based relationship with your emotions.

Our habit, of course, is to avoid our emotions, especially id they are painful emotions, but avoidance is not going to help the healing process. It is absolutely essential that you bring conscious awareness to your emotions. Emotions REQUIRE that state of conscious presence that we call mindfulness in order to change, transform and heal.

So, it's by bringing mindfulness to your anxiety or your depression or your compulsion that we can begin to effect a change. We essentially learn how to meditate on our emotions. This is the key to the system of psychotherapy that I teach, which is called Mindfulness Therapy.

So, you will be learning how to sit with your emotions and develop this all-important mindful-based consciousness. When you can hold your emotions in that place of consciousness, without becoming overwhelmed by your emotions, and without becoming reactive toward your emotions then the emotions begin to heal.

Mindfulness actually promotes this natural healing process in which the energetic emotional state of the emotion will begin to become malleable and will begin to change itself into a more stable energetic structure.

We can actually help this process, not only by creating the mindfulness-based relationship with our emotions, but by actually investigating the structure of our emotions in more detail. And this means, specifically, looking at the emotional imagery - how you see the emotion in the mind is a primary factor that determines the intensity of the anxiety, depression or compulsion.

It's the imagery that really governs the emotions. When we can uncover this imagery then we can investigate changing the imagery in a way that reduces the emotional intensity of the anxiety-producing thoughts or depression or the compulsion, itself. We can actually change the intensity by changing the imagery.

So, this is another really interesting part of the mindfulness system that I teach online, and that I will be teaching you during our online therapy sessions.

So, if you would be interested in working on your anxiety, depression or addiction, or other emotional problems, do please CONTACT ME. Go to my online therapy website and read more of the articles and watch more of the videos about Mindfulness Therapy and about seeing a Skype therapist for help with emotional issues, and when you feel ready you can contact me and we can schedule a trial Skype therapy session.

You will be quite surprised at how effective the online mindfulness therapy approach is. I will predict that you will see dramatic changes after that first session. The reason is simple. It is because we are focusing on changing the actual underlying process that causes your anxiety, depression, or other emotional problems. This approach of changing the underlying cause is very much more effective than just talking about your emotions as is the case with most forms of traditional counseling, or from trying to reduce symptoms through the use of medications. Conventional talk therapy and medications may reduce symptoms, but only on a temporary basis because they do not change the underlying process, the underlying cause of the anxiety, depression or compulsion.

If you are interested do please CONTACT ME and then we can schedule an online therapy session. Thank you.

As a Skype therapist, I offer therapy to people wherever they live, as long as you have an internet connection available.

Skype Therapist UK

I see many clients from the UK. I am from the UK myself and I am now living in Boulder, Colorado. It always gives me great pleasure to work with fellow Brits.

If you would like to learn more about Skype therapy and the style of therapy which I offer, do go to my website and you will learn everything you need to know about Skype therapy and about this process. Please email me with any questions you may have about working with a Skype therapist and how it might be suitable for helping you with your particular needs. You are welcome to ask your questions and I will be happy to answer them.

Typically, most people see me once a week; sessions are usually 60-90 minutes long. The style of therapy that I offer is called Mindfulness Therapy, which is extremely effective for working with anxiety.

Most of the clients who come to me have already tried the conventional counseling and therapy offered locally; they may have also tried various kinds of anti-anxiety or antidepressant medications.

Most people come to me after trying this because they find that they are simply not effective at providing long-term solutions to their anxiety or depression. And that is where Mindfulness Therapy is so effective because we work on changing the underlying habitual emotions themselves. We work on changing the reactive process in the mind that produces anxiety or depression.

You can learn more about Mindfulness Therapy on my website, but the best thing to do is simply schedule a trial session with me and then you will see for yourself how effective Mindfulness Therapy is for reducing anxiety.

I have seen many hundreds of clients now, over the years, and they all really enjoy the mindfulness therapy approach.

So, if you are living in the United Kingdom or Western Europe, that's fine. Generally, people schedule morning sessions for me which will be evening time for you; there is a 7 hour difference, so that usually works extremely well.

Skype Therapist - Mindfulness Therapy Over Skype

Welcome. My name is Peter Strong and I am a professional online therapist. I offer Skype Therapy for the treatment of anxiety, for help with overcoming depression, and for recovery from addictions.

As a Skype therapist, I can work with you on a one-to-one basis at a time that's convenient for you and also without you having to leave home. This is one of the great advantages of Skype therapy. It means that you can get the help you need without having to leave home.

If you would like to talk to a Skype therapist and learn more about this approach do please visit my website and contact me and ask any questions you may have about Skype therapy and how to start working with a Skype therapist and how this system can help you specifically.

Most of my clients are struggling with anxiety or depression; some are struggling with addiction too. Perhaps most of the individuals who choose online therapy are struggling with anxiety.

The system of psychotherapy that I offer online, which is called Mindfulness Therapy, is particularly good for helping you overcome anxiety.

Mindfulness Therapy is a way of really breaking those habitual patterns of emotional reactivity that lie at the core of our anxiety or depression. These underlying core emotions fuel our reactive thinking process and our behavioral reactivity, including addiction, and in general create tremendous problems in the quality of our life.

If you want to effectively break free from anxiety you have to learn how to change these underlying emotional habits. The emotional habits come first, not thoughts. Thoughts are the product of the emotion, just as the addictive behaviors are the product of an intense underlying emotion. The secret is to change that emotion. If you take the fuel away from the reactive thinking and reactive behaviors, then those behaviors and negative thought processes will themselves change and diminish and eventually be replaced by more positive thought and behavioral habits.

It all depends on changing the underlying emotion, and that's where Mindfulness Therapy comes in. So, rather than trying to convince you that you no reason to be anxious as may be taught in some forms of CBT, we recognize that you have these beliefs because of the underlying emotion that gives those beliefs such power.

The only effective way to change those beliefs is to change that underlying emotion, and Mindfulness Therapy does this by recognizing that the primary structure of emotion is not thoughts, it's not beliefs, it's not behavior; it's imagery. It's how you see the emotion, the beliefs and thoughts in the mind. That imagery is what holds the emotional energy together and creates an emotional charge to the thought or or belief or behavior.

So, it's imagery that really runs emotions. Discovering the structure of the imagery beneath your emotions is absolutely central, and that's what we focus on when we apply mindfulness to our emotions. We look at the imagery underneath the emotion that creates that emotion. And, of course, the more you can uncover this imagery, the more that you can change the emotion.

It is very difficult to change an emotion directly because it has no particular form, it's just an energy. But it is possible to change imagery because that does have form, it's very concrete. And, remember, when you change the inner psychological imagery, you change the intensity of the emotion. Change that imagery enough and the anxiety or depression or addiction will go away.

So, that's one part of Mindfulness Therapy. We call it Investigating the Image Structure of your Emotions.

If you would like to learn more about Mindfulness Therapy and working with a Skype therapist to help you overcome anxiety or depression or addiction, do please visit my website and CONTACT ME and then we can schedule a Skype therapy session. Thank you.
